Lots of controversy with Jerry Storch [CEO – Toys ‘R Us] detailing with a very passionate persuasive argument on why stores will win in the long term against e-commerce only retailers, to a dominantly digital crowd. Followed by a friendly protest march against SAAS … made for an exciting and challenging first morning at Shop.org. Then there was a pressure packed day with presentations by M&S on their global brand digital strategy followed by a very eloquent and beautifully constructed argument by investor Michael Ziessner [Liberty Media] in what to look out for with the future of digital media, and a very succinct review of the changing direction and values of this dynamic investment market. Completing the day was Bryan Eisenburg arguing for outsourcing of big data.
